Elizabeth Geary is a founding partner at GearyBeck, handling high-stakes trials and appeals throughout Texas and New Mexico. Elizabeth acts as lead trial counsel in multi-million dollar disputes, in a wide range of areas, including business disputes, personal injury, intellectual property, energy, and estate disputes. Elizabeth often assists trial attorneys in handling complex briefing, oral argument, and evidentiary hearings due to Elizabeth’s experience and command of the courtroom. She has earned the high distinction of being recognized as Board Certified in Civil Appellate Law.
Elizabeth holds the unique ability to determine case strategy and execute it skillfully through persuasive writing and an exceptional courtroom presence. Elizabeth delivered her first appellate argument at the Texas Supreme Court after only one year of practice. She has since appeared before numerous courts of appeals and the federal Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals. In addition to her exceptional appellate advocacy, Elizabeth has continued to act as lead trial counsel at numerous trial courts throughout Texas and New Mexico.
Elizabeth has been elected a Texas Super Lawyer since 2023 and was a Super Lawyers Rising Star from 2017-2022. She was the recipient of the 2024 TYLA President’s Award of Merit for her contributions in authoring the state moot court problem, ultimately argued before the Supreme Court of Texas. Elizabeth was the recipient of the 2016 Graduate of the Last Decade (GOLD) Award from Texas Tech School of Law. In addition to her legal career, Elizabeth presently serves on the Board of Directors for the Lubbock Chamber of Commerce and is a past President of the Board of Directors for the Lubbock YWCA.
Elizabeth received her J.D. from Texas Tech School of Law, where she graduated summa cum laude. She was a member of the Law Review and received an Outstanding Student Comment award and was also named the Outstanding Comment Editor for her leadership and mentoring of other Law Review members. In addition, Elizabeth was a two-time National Champion in moot court, including the ACTL and NYC Bar National Moot Court Competition, which she won with her partner, Brandon Beck. Elizabeth won multiple oral advocacy awards, including overall Best Oral Advocate at the Texas Young Lawyers Moot Court State Championship in 2012. Elizabeth received the elite distinction of being elected to both the National Order of the Coif and National Order of the Barristers.
